Issue 2 – In which the EIC gets fired
Topsoil Editor-in-Chief Dennis Tayé Allen was released from his contractual obligations at the magazine today. A red-eyed Allen packed his belongings in two Hilo bags and handed in his resignation after accusing Topsoil management of trying to infringe on the magazine’s editorial autonomy. He cited a memo from Grasworx chairwoman Lisa Allen-Agostini criticising his decision to publish “Recipe for a Fig Oil Republic” in Vol. 1 Issue 2, and generally bitching about the anarchic, anti-establishment content of the magazine.
Up to press time, Grasworx had no comment.
Nah. If that ever happen, pack up your brain and go home, ’cause everything shut down. Topsoil stands committed to a free press and supports the Guardian editors and writers who followed el jefe out the door. And to you, the writers formerly known as Guardian staff, feel free to check us for a work. We don’t pay, but we give great job satisfaction.
